BHR Attending AZMC Mini-Dyno Day

November 18th, 2009

Flashwing Dyno @ UMSBe sure to stay tuned to our live section on Saturday, November 21st from 10am to approx 6pm MST for coverage of the Arizona Mazda Club’s mini-dyno day!  Currently Todd’s nitrous powered RX8 will be one of the Rotary cars on the dyno as well as various other Mazda vehicles including a LS2 powered Miata!  The dyno day will be held at UMS Tuning in Tempe using their DynaPack dyno.

This is not a Black Halo Racing sponsored event however we felt that this would be an opportunity to showcase some of our local community vehicles and have a good time doing it!

That’s a pretty wacky dyno. I’ve never seen one like this before. I guess it works, but I’d be a bit worried about what would happen if that jack would give out. It’s also kinda cheating since you’re not applying road-force :)

You need not worry Mark, this dyno is the real deal. The Dynapack is a load bearing dyno. The one that UMS uses is within 1% of most dynojet units so it’s very accurate. The jack is mearly a safety device as the dyno fits on both hubs and it holds the weight of the car.

The advantage of a dynapack is it can do both 2wd and 4wd cars and it’s also highly portable. The load bearing features means you can set a particular RPM and it will load the vehicle up for precise tuning.
