BHR to attend Ultimate SoCal Dyno Day 2010

February 15th, 2010

1-24-09Black Halo Racing will be featured at the SoCal Ultimate Dyno Day at SR Motorcars – organized by Jorge Leal (Jedi54 on the RX8Club forum) on March 27-28, 2010.

This year we’re going BIGGER & BETTER than ever before.  We will have TWO full days of LIVE webcasts, dyno runs, Cobb AccessPORT tuning, and all the shenanigans you’ve come to expect from BHR at these events.  Black Halo Racing will be on site with AccessPORT tuning by MazdaManiac as well as various services as needed by those attending, including parts installations, demos and rotary compression testing.  There will also be some big surprises for everyone who attends!  If you’re in southern California this is an event you’ll not want to miss.

Saturday (3/27) will be a day of tuning and dyno runs for the turbo and supercharged cars.  Phil’s Pettit-supercharged RX8, which has been meticulously built and tuned by BHR, will be shooting for some huge numbers on a 4-port automatic.  Charles R.  Hill will be running his ported nitrous powered RX8 as well as a few of Socal’s finest rotary cars.

On 2009_0124DYNODAY0109Sunday (3/28), the dyno will be invaded by the majority of the NA group doing runs for power and many receiving AccessPORT tuning by MazdaManiac.

If you’re interested in Black Halo Racing products then you will not want to miss the event that everyone will be talking about!

Jeff Abrams to compete in 24 hours of LeMons

January 21st, 2010

Black Halo Racing’s own Jeff Abrams will be competing in the 24 hours of LeMons race taking place this weekend, January 24th and 25th, at the Firebird International Raceway on their west track.

Abrams, along with the rest of Team Fuhkeen Rabbits will be driving their VW rabbit to victory during a grueling 2 day race comprising of 8 hours of racing per day.  The 24 hours of LeMons  race isn’t your typical endurance competition.  Teams are limited to vehicles and expenses of no more than $500 total not including fuel or safety equipment.  Needless to say, this is about as raw as amateur racing gets.

Black Halo Racing is excited that Jeff is part of an event such as the 24 hours of LeMons for the fact that it’s all about having fun, racing and not taking yourself too seriously.

If you’re going to be in the Phoenix area this weekend and want to see some of the best racing $500 vehicles have to offer then be sure to come find us supporting Jeff and cheering him on!

Jeff already had a chance to get a feel for his new German chariot a couple weeks ago at Phoenix Raceway.  The best part about this car is the bunny rabbit theme.  Sporting pink accents, bunny ears and no doubt a bushy tail this will not be a car you want to get lapped by.

Abrams and his team acquired the chassis and performed a variety of work including dropping in a new motor and HAWK brake pads.  Even if they don’t end up being the fastest they might be able to laugh the other drives to death.

You can get more information by going to the 24 hours of LeMons website at http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

You can also catch Team Fuhkeen Rabbits on facebook!

Upcoming Site Updates!

September 30th, 2009

Black Halo Racing has been working hard at getting our new website up and running!  So far we’ve added a few updates and will continue to add information and features to the website as time goes on.

First, we’ve added a “Live” section on our menu bar which links directly to our Stickam.com account for live web broadcasting.  Be sure to check out our events calendar for broadcast times and events.  We’re going to be conducting a few live events in addition to dyno days so keep an eye out for those.

Second, we’ve began to add our entire product line to the website for purchase.  We’re not content with simply copying and pasting the product descriptions and instead we want to add our own comments and information to better help people when shopping for products.  Our product line currently includes pricing with shipping included to all 48 states but we will ensure to note that so there’s no confusion with pricing.

Third, our photo gallery is being populated with pictures from events, customer cars as well as an upcoming “featured rides” section where we will showcase specific RX8’s or rotary cars that BHR has been involved in.  We’re currently linking all of BHR’s videos from youtube but we’ll be providing hosted videos as well.

Finally, we’re also building our tech section.  Currently we have our oil analysis from Blackstone Labs for viewing but we’ll be adding information on clutches, flywheels, turbos, nitrous, tuning and much more for viewing.  If you have any suggestions or would like to contribute anything to our tech section please let us know.  We’ve also added a registration link so you can now setup accounts for posting comments and also for quick checkouts.

Enjoy your stay here at BHR and let us know how we can improve our site!
